2010 Race Schedule

Our governing organization for outrigger canoe racing in southern California is SCORA, Southern California Outrigger Racing Association, of which we are active members in good standing.  Our 2010 racing season began in May and will extend through September.  We will be participating in SCORA sanctioned races from San Diego to Santa Barbara. We will also be taking several teams to Kona, Hawaii for the Queen Lili`uokalani event which is the largest outrigger race in the world. We may also participate in the Super Bowl of outrigger canoe races this year which is a race from Moloka`i to Oahu better know as the Moloka`i Hoe. These races attract worldwide participation and media.

*The September 25, 2010 Ikuna Koa Keiki Klassic Regatta is simply a figment of my imagination at this point.  For the last two years I have wanted to put together a small regatta dedicated to the keiki’s of our SCORA clubs.  I will be working with some SCORA board members and PIFA board members an attempt to put this event together.  If you are interested in volunteering to help host this event or are a company that would like to sponsor this event please contact Uncle Gus at Ikuna Koa Outrigger Canoe Club. My email adress is: gus@ikunakoa.com
